In accordance with the decision taken at the meeting of the Branches Executive Board, operating under the Health, Culture and Sports Department of our University, on May 28, 2025 (meeting number 2024-2025/4), the Geology Engineering Student Society has been established under the Science Branches Coordination Office.
Associate Professor Dr. Mehmet Köküm, a faculty member of our Department, has been appointed as the academic advisor of the newly established society.
The Geology Engineering Student Society aims to contribute to the professional, scientific, social and cultural development of our students, to strengthen solidarity among department students, and to organize events to keep up with current developments in the field of geology engineering. The society plans to organize seminars, technical trips, career events, scientific talks, and various student-focused events.
Furthermore, an Instagram account has been created to announce the activities of our society and to establish more effective communication with our students. Our students and all interested parties can follow the *@fu_jeoloji.eng* account for event announcements and current posts.
We wish this to be beneficial for our department and our students, and we wish our community success in its endeavors.
