Graduate
The Geological Engineering Undergraduate Program aims to provide undergraduate education to its students with a continuous development approach, conduct scientific research, share their knowledge for the benefit of society, and train graduates who are equipped with professional knowledge and are contemporary, enterprising, self-confident, and have international knowledge, so that they will be the most sought-after graduates in the business and scientific world.
In our program, education and research are carried out in 4 main branches;
In the first two years of the four-year education-training, mainly engineering and science courses are given, while in the last two years, vocational courses and practices are given. In the spring semester of the last two years (an average of 10 days in each class, 20 days in total in undergraduate education), undergraduate students are taken to geological structures and businesses in Elazığ and neighboring provinces to provide practical learning. In the last semester of undergraduate education, each student is required to do a theoretical/practical graduation assignment and after the second year, a total of 40 working days of internship is required in relevant institutions.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM
The Geological Engineering undergraduate program aims to train geological engineers who can present the data, techniques and principles of geology, which deals with the observation and interpretation of all phenomena occurring in and on the earth, to all kinds of engineering use, who can prepare a 4-dimensional (x-y-z-t) geological model of the project area, who can define the material that forms the earth's crust with education and practical knowledge, who can determine problems in advance and develop engineering solutions to problems, to conduct basic and applied scientific research with an innovative approach and to present their knowledge for the benefit of all sectors (mining, industry, medicine, defense, energy, construction, etc.) and society related to the subject.
